Ticket Exchange Privileges

One of the perks of a season subscription is the ability to exchange full subscriptions or tickets to a single production. For instance, if you have a subscription for all Thursday evening performances but decide you’d rather attend on Saturday, you can exchange your tickets into Saturday night. All exchanges are subject to availability. Any difference between the exchanged tickets and a lower priced seating area becomes a tax-deductible donation.

All exchanges must be processed prior to the performance date printed on the ticket. Unused tickets may be exchanged at the venue ticket office up to 15 minutes before any other performance of the same show, and you will receive the best seats available at that time. Tickets for past performances cannot be exchanged.

Tickets exchanged more than one week prior to the new performance will be mailed to you. Tickets exchanged less than a week prior to the new performance will be held at the State Theatre ticket window. You must present photo identification to receive your tickets.

Note: If you received an exchange form in the mail with your tickets, the times for the Saturday and Sunday performances were mistakenly transposed. Our Saturday performances are at 8 pm and Sunday performances at 2 pm. The exchange form below is a corrected version.

Lost Tickets

If your tickets have been misplaced or stolen, please call 216.664.6065, and we will arrange for replacements to be held at the State Theatre’s prepaid ticket window. After business hours on the day of the show, replacement tickets will be issued at the Opera Cleveland window at the State Theatre’s ticket office.

At the Theater

All Opera Cleveland performances begin promptly. Please note the curtain time indicated on your tickets and plan accordingly. Allow adequate time for traffic, parking and inclement weather, so you can be in your seats promptly at curtain time. As a courtesy to both artists and patrons, latecomers will be seated at the discretion of house management. At ten minutes prior to each curtain, all vacant seats will be sold to waiting list patrons.

Tickets may be picked up at the Prepaid windows at the Playhouse Square Ticket Office for Opera Cleveland performances up to one hour prior to curtain time for performances.

Waiting List Protocol

In the event of a sold-out performance, Opera Cleveland patrons may add their names to a subscriber priority waiting list by providing the box office with credit card information. At the sold-out performance subscribers must arrive at least thirty minutes prior to curtain and inform the box office that they wish to attend the show. At ten minutes prior to the curtain, patrons on the waiting list will be seated in empty seats if they are available and their credit card will be charged for those tickets. If the original patron arrives before curtain or at intermission, the waiting list patron will be reseated in late seating.
